Sex ratio

 

In India, sex ratio is taken as the number of females per thousand females. Higher sex ratio is regarded as pro-women demographic features. Sex ratio of the country is much lower compared to developed countries.

According to the Census 2011, sex ratio is 940 showing an improvement from the 2011 figure of 933. Sex ratio among the states is not uniform. It is 1084 for Kerala, which is regarded as the developed state in terms of socio-economic development status.
