The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) was launched on December 2000 to promote road connectivity to the country’s rural habitations. Theprogrammecompleted nearly two decades and worked through two phases, the first one aiming to create road connectivity and the second phase aimed to upgrade existing roads and to improve networks among economic areas or growth centers.
