National Skill Development Mission

 

National Skill Development Mission was officially launched by the Prime Minister on July 15, 2015 on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day as a coordinating initiative for skill development programmes. The Mission is aimed to generate and support a strong institutional structure by coordinating various central government agencies, state governments etc.

The Mission’s Governing Council is chaired by the Prime Minister and it will provide overall guidance and policy direction.

There are seven sub-missions to meet the objectives of the Mission. These submissions are:

(i) Institutional Training, (ii) Infrastructure, (iii) Convergence, (iv) Trainers, (v) Overseas Employment, (vi) Sustainable Livelihoods, (vii) Leveraging Public Infrastructure.
