National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) was created by the government as an autonomous body to coordinate the skill development efforts of the Government and the private sector. It has three key roles – create, fund and develop an ecosystem by promoting the role of the private sector and employers in skill development. The NSDA also anchors the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) and facilitate the setting up of professional certifying bodies in addition to the existing ones.
It lays special emphasis on industry engagement related to skill development. The NSDA works to involve private players across various skill development activities, such as curriculum design, apprenticeship, certification, competency assessment and placement linkages.
