The deminimis represents a limit upto which a WTO member country can give trade distorting domestic subsidies to its agriculture sector. The trade distorting subsidies under the Aggregate Measures of Support are allowed by the WTO up to a level expressed in terms of the member country’s agricultural GDP. This is called the de-minimis support.
As per the AoA, the developed countries can give 5% of their agricultural GDP as AMS whereas the developing countries can give 10%.
